Who is Manuel Neuer's wife?

Anika Neuer is the wife of Bayern Munich captain and goalkeeper Manuel Neuer. Born Anika Bissel, she took the Neuer name after their 2023 wedding. She comes from Erlangen in Bavaria and is a handball player in her own right, having started aged ten in HC Erlangen's youth set-up. She reportedly studied fashion management.

A left winger, she spent two seasons with SG H2Ku Herrenberg in the 2. Bundesliga before joining ESV 1927 Regensburg in 2021. In 2022/23 she scored 71 goals in 25 games as Regensburg achieved their best finish, fourth. After the birth of their first child she returned and reportedly scored 84 goals in 2024/25, then took a break because of the travel between Tegernsee and Regensburg, saying it was not the end of her handball career. She now reportedly teaches Reformer Pilates on Lake Tegernsee.

Their relationship became public in May 2020, when they had been together for some months. They reportedly got engaged in September 2023 and married in a small civil ceremony that November, which she revealed on Instagram. A church wedding followed on 19 July 2025 at Schloss Freudenstein in South Tyrol.

They have one child, and in May 2026 Neuer confirmed they were expecting their second, so she did not travel to the 2026 World Cup. She keeps her Instagram account private.
