Who is Granit Xhaka's wife?

Leonita Xhaka is the wife of Sunderland captain Granit Xhaka, who also captains Switzerland. Born Leonita Lekaj, she is a model and comes from Germany, with reports placing her home region in the Rhineland.

The pair met during Xhaka's years at Borussia Mönchengladbach, where she worked for the club, and are believed to have been together since around 2015. They married in 2017 and later lived in London while he played for Arsenal. When he left for Bayer Leverkusen, Sport Bild reported that she had played a key role in the move, but Xhaka said otherwise: "To be honest, she was against it."

In autumn 2024 he announced her third pregnancy with a ball-under-the-shirt celebration after scoring against Heidenheim, a goal she had been waiting for so they could share the news. The couple have three daughters.
